Lately, I’ve had an obsession with vests. It’s an easy, breezy way to add interest to a summer outfit. The last month has gone from mildly uncomfortable to scorching hot and it can be a challenge to figure out an outfit that’s not only sweaty weather friendly, but fashion forward. As the heat rolls into full swing, the shorts get shorter and the tops get slinkier. Combat heat induced skank by tossing a vest over your itty bitty tank.
Best Vest Looks
Sincerely Jules tops my list with a menswear tuxedo inspired vest paired with sneakers. Such a fun dressed up/ dressed down combo.
Tuxedo jacket done casually again.
Tux inspo dressed up. I know the shoes were cut off, but I’m picturing a fierce set of heels.
Distressed jeans get kicked up a notch with this dusty pink trench vest.
Army green has so many potential applications. This outfit is exactly what my Summer wardrobe needs.
Jeans and a t-shirt get an upgrade with oxfords and a vest. It’s incredible how accessories can be the difference between homeless and haute.
Camel is one of those colors that just reads luxury. Could there be an easier outfit than all black with camel?
Generally, Leandra Medine of Manrepeller.com, has a fashion sense that is too quirky for myself, yet this playfully chic vest and leather short ensemble piques my interest.
The leather vest may not be for Arizona summers, but it is definitely for the classic badass girl.
One key styling tip to remember, if you’re going to get in on my “vested obsession,” is to make sure your vest doesn’t meet your clothes at the same hem line. There should be a difference of at least an inch or look translates as boxy; it’s important to break it up a bit.
