Spring is around the corner. Although it’s nearly scorching weather here on my Arizona patio from where I write this article, I realize that the rest of the country is dealing with transitional weather.
I did it for many years in the midwest. Digging through my closet and asking myself questions like, “Too cool for open toes? I want to wear this skirt and I only have open toed shoes, but I’d need tights, what should I do? Will I be hot in this sweater? Am I too pale for these shorts?”
I’ve been there! I’ve got some transitional outfit ideas for you…
Layer up! Wearing lightweight layers is a great way to deal with transitional weather. If I end up holding my jacket while shopping or running errands, it’s better if it’s a light jacket and I have a few layers underneath than if I’m only wearing one layer and I’ve got a bulky jacket to carry.
This lightweight Asos denim trench will keep you warm and stylish this Spring.
Stuck between t-shirt and jacket weather? Go with a lightweight sweatshirt for brunching on the weekend.
Many of the catchy sweatshirts from Bow and Drape are offered in a short sleeved option. but if the one you want is not, don’t fret; just create one using the custom selection.
If the one you want is not available as a short sleeved option, don’t fret; just create one using the custom selection. It’s easy! You start with a basic shirt and you can add any words or graphics you want.
My other favorite site for fun fresh sweatshirts is Buy Me Brunch.
I’ve been collecting tops from Rails Clothing for this Spring. These tops are crazy soft! I layer them over tank ad t-shirt for a little bit more warmth and just a tank if the weather permits.

The shoe dilemma
One way to transition wardrobe is to choose an open toe boot with your outfit. The open toe or cutouts give your feet a chance to breathe, but still keep them warm enough.
There’s also no shortage of sleek flats out there today if you’re looking for something a little easier to wear.
My pick for a versatile flat is the laced up M. Gemi Brezza flat.
For a more dressed up look, go with the Stellato from M. Gemi. I’m in love with this shoe. It’s so chic and versatile. Dress them down with a pair of leggings or joggers or dress them up with leather leggings or work pants.
Both flats have enough stand alone style to pair well with cropped pants, which are on trend this year and also a great transitional piece.
now that we’ve got some basics, let’s take a look at some outfits!
Enjoy the weather!!
