Dermaplaning… What do I need to know?

Dermaplaning is a safe and effective procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding skin of vellus hair (peach fuzz). The result of Dermaplaning is radiant soft skin over which makeup glides on smoothly. You’ll find your makeup looking far less caked and more natural.

Women are often concerned that the hair removed will grow back thicker and coarser than before.  This is a myth.  Vellus hair will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the procedure.  You may feel a slight prickle when you run your hand along your face as the hair grows back and this is simply due to the hair being flat at the end.  New hair growth does not have a flat tip, however, after cutting the hair, it will and fear not, it will go away as it grows.  That’s the worst of it and it only lasts a few days.  Your skin will look radiant for weeks!

I’m also asked if Dermaplaning is safe for skin.  It is;  I have sensitive skin and it looks great on post procedure day one.  There are no abrasive marks or damage to the skin from the light touch of Dermaplaning.

Come along with me to Bellina Med Spa for my Dermaplaning appointment with Renee Manoz, Licensed Aesthetician, and see for yourself!
