The art of appearing polished and well put together all the time seems exhausting. Women look polished look as though they’ve spent hours on their appearance. Maybe they have, maybe they haven’t. I prefer to have not spent hours on my appearance in the morning. Who has time for that?
I’ll admit that, as a nurse, it’s easy to roll out of bed and go straight to work. I have a uniform and most patients prefer to see their nurse’s hair up and out of the way, so it’s a rather convenient and bad habit to exit the house looking just a notch above “hot mess.” After launching theLuxicon.Co, I began making an effort to look polished all the time.
I don’t put a ton of effort into my looks, just a few simple changes have made an enormous difference. I’m better received by others and although, this was an effort put forth for personal reasons, I’ve enjoyed the response. Taking a few extra me time minutes each morning sets the tone for the day and makes me feel like I can take on the world. Overall, I’m more productive because I feel better about myself. Here are a few easy ways to get out the door quickly and feel put together.
8 Daily Habits of Well Polished Women
1. Enjoy your morning routine.
If you treat your routine like a chore, it will most likely be something you skimp on as much as possible. I listen to music and sit down while I put my makeup on. I feel less rushed and I enjoy rocking out to my stations that pump me up for the day. I also keep track of my time by how many songs I’ve heard while fixing my hair. After a few songs, I pick up the pace if I need to.

4. Fix your hair every day.
It doesn’t take much time to fix your hair, but it makes a world of difference. If you find your hair too difficult, talk with your stylist about a less fuss style. I plan my hair washes and styling around my early mornings. If my hair is oily, I use dry shampoo and potentially wear it in a low ponytail or braid.

6. Lose the wrinkles.
Wrinkled clothes not only look messy, but they send the message that you’ve given up. It’s an easy fix too. Hang your clothes in the shower while you get ready. Make sure they get the steam, but they aren’t getting wet. Most of the time, that’s all they need. Travel steamers are an easy way to de-wrinkle your looks as well.
7. Ditch the lint.
If your fur babies are as fluffy and lovable as mine, you feel my pain. As soon as I put on a nice outfit this guy wants love. Fur all over your clothes definitely gives away your struggle. Keep a lint roller by the door and use it before you leave. Portable lint rollers for your purse are also key; sometimes you just don’t notice until you’re out the door. Flint rollers retract into a cover, so they won’t stick to everything in your purse.
8. Dress in one color.
Dressing monochrome, not only looks polished, it also saves you time in the morning. I usually dress in black when I choose monochrome outfits. It’s slimming and sleek. Even if you’re not a collector of all black items. you probably have a few great staple pieces in your closet. Dressing in black is a quick and easy way to look chic and thin. Who doesn’t love that?
